Castlemartyr Afternoon Tea

Hey everyone back with another review. Ye all know I love a good afternoon tea I have a serious sweet tooth. I love Castlemartyr Resort I have been to the Spa and stayed over night there. I went down Saturday for afternoon tea there is also a lovely walk around the resort with lovely ponds and horses. Afternoon Tea is served in The Bell Tower overlooking beautiful gardens. You can check out the menu here. Service is something that is very important to me I think it makes the experience and I have to say the service was top class the staff were very accommodating as I am pregnant I couldn't have some of the menu and they happily changed it for me and also provided Soya milk as I don't drink regular milk. We also received a very warm welcome our waiter and waitress were very friendly and attentive. The scones were warm and fresh out of the oven it was one of the nicest scones I ever had. Our tea was topped up with new pot regularly we didn't even have to ask. We went to knights bar after they make the best non alcoholic mojito's. Overall I would highly recommend taking a trip to Castlemartyr they have some great Spa deals on there website you can check them out here.

Thanks for reading everyone.

Thank you to Trevor and all the staff at Castlemartyr looking forward to returning.

How to create at home Spa

Hey everyone happy Monday today I thought I would do a blog on pampering you can do at home. What better day to do it then Monday or its also nice at the weekend after a hard week well any excuse really to put the feet up and enjoy some me time.

1.Creating a Spa atmosphere
Make you bathroom and bedroom as relaxing as possible by tidying away any clutter laying around. Light some scented candles most of ye know I am obsessed with candles and I got a Beautiful one down in Bella Baby last week the scent actually reminds me of the Spa at Castlemartyr. Lighting candles also gives a lovely relaxing lighting to the room. Put on some relaxing music I love the sound of water and nature I get the playlists from Youtube and play them on my Ipod this is one I like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZbuj3RJcjI

2.Clean you skin
Take off any make up you are wearing with a cleanser and some cotton pads I like the Simple brand. Next Exfoliate your skin wet your face with warm water and add some exfoliator to a face cloth and scrub in circular motions this will remove any dead skin cells rinse your face clean and pat dry.

3. Masks
Choose a face mask to suit your skin I use the Glow mask from Pennyes apply a thin layer to your face avoiding eye area. You can also apply a hair mask shampoo your hair apply hair mask and wrap it up in a towel or bun.

4.Run a bath
Prepare yourself for a luxurious warm bath which can help with any aches and pains you might be feeling. Add some Bubble bath,Essential oils,Epsom salts or a bath bomb.

5.Exfoliate
Before you settle into your bath buff your body with some exfoliating gloves to remove dead skin cells which will give your skin a glow again go in circular motions and give your elbows and knees and extra scrub.

6.Relax
Now its time to relax and enjoy your me time put your towel on the rad roll up a towel or get a bath cushion for your head. Enjoy a hot chocolate, tea or glass of shloer while your in there. Throw some cucumber slices on your eyes.

7.Shower
Its a good idea to take a shower after to rinse off any of that excess exfoliator and wash out your hair mask and face mask I use the cloths from Penneys to take off my face masks.

8.Moisturise
I like to use the Dove tinted moisturiser it gives a lovely natural glow I get mine in the Medical hall at the moment I am using the Palmers Cocoa butter strecth mark cream It has a beautiful smells and drys quickly available in the Medical Hall also.

9.Manicure & Pedicure
Your nails will be soft after the bath so its the perfect time to file and shape them and throw on a coat of varnish.

10.Deep Sleep
You should be feeling relaxed and refreshed after your pampering I like to spray some lavender on my pillow and off to sleep you go.

Thanks for reading everyone give it a like if you enjoyed this blog.

Bella Baby ( Top 5 must haves for newborns)

Hey Everyone I took a trip down to Bella Baby on Friday to check out the store. I have to say it really is your one stop baby shop it has everything you would need. The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable. I asked them to tell me 5 things every newborn needs they went through everything in detail explaining everything I needed to know which was great. I got some useful information which I didn't know being a first time mum in the making.

So onto the list

Number 1

The travel system there are so many different options to choose from depending on what you want from your buggy. I wanted something that could take a lot of mileage as I plan on doing lots of walking with it and something that was compact and easy to fold. Eleanor showed me the Stooke Scoot which is compact in size the stroller offers 3 seat positions sleep, rest and active as well as parent facing and forward facing seating with the addition of the Stooke scoot softbag the stroller is even more comfortable for the smallest of passengers.

You can browse their Travel systems here

Number 2  Cocoonababy

The Cocoonababy has become very popular pushing regular mosses baskets to the side it has a slightly curved position and has a memory foam type feel to it. Cocoonababy helps limit concerns occurring during the first months and contributes to

  • Improves quality and length of sleep
  • Reduces involuntary jerk movements
  • Reduces gastric reflux
  • Limits the risk of flat head syndrome
  • Adjustable, removable wedge allows baby to lie in a semi fetal position at the correct height
  • Tummy band reassures and soothes baby by applying light pressure on its tummy
I also had lots of friends find the Cacoonababy great and have heard great feedback about them. You can buy yours here.

Number 3 is a Bouncer/Swing

This is great for during the day to keep your baby entertained or to even nap in. They have a great selection of bouncers in neutral colours I went for the Grey and white of course as ye all know I am obsessed with anything grey and white. It has the following features

  • MP3 compatible allowing you to play the music your baby loves
  • Two light shows offer a choice of calming and sensory displays
  • Variety of melody choices

  •

It is also suitable from birth. I have been told the one I got is been discontinued as it is one of the older models. But you can shop there range here there is a similar one with the same features here

    Number 4

Tripp Trapp High Chair It is designed to fit right up to your dining table, bringing your baby in close to the family allowing them to learn and develop along side you. The intelligent adjustable design allows the freedom of movement with both depth and height adjustable seat and foot plates. It comes in a wide variety of colours you can browse the products here

    Number 5

    Snuzahero

I think a lot of first time Mum's would be interested in this for peace of mind. The Snuza hero is a baby monitor which attaches to your baby's diaper and monitors your baby's breathing. The Snuza detects the slightest if breaths and will alert you if the breathing is weak or less the eight braths per minute. If the Snuza detects no breathing for 15 seconds it will vibrate in an effort to rouse your baby to resume breathing. You can buy yours here

How I prepared my body for pregnacy

Hey everyone so you would have seen on Facebook my big news last week so I wanted to write a blog hoping it will help someone else get their positive test. You should consult your doctor before you try any of the below methods as they may not be suitable for you.Although baby making can be fun it can become quiet stressful to so I have put together some tips that might help someone.

    Birth Control

I would recommend coming off birth control 3 months prior to trying for a baby so you can get to know your cycle. I also would recommend taking Zinc and Magnesium which will help regulate your cycle.

    Ovulation Tests

You will need to do ovulation test to find out what time you ovulate through your cycle. The average women will ovulate on day 14 of her cycle but everyone is different and if you have irregular cycles then these are a must. I used two types the Clear blue digital ones and the ones from Dealz. The Clear blue are €34.99 for a pack of 10 test and shows up 3 digital results low fertility, high fertility and peak fertility. When I first used them I never reached peak in the 10 test so I had to buy another pack which is quiet costly to be honest I much preferred the ones from Dealz cheap and cheerful and done the job. The test line should be as dark if not darker then the control line which means its a positive and you need to get busy that week as it should be your fertile window. I did the test first thing in the morning many people test twice a day in order not to miss the LH surge. I also used the app called the Period tracker which estimates when your fertile week is and its a fun way to keeps track of things.

    Probiotics

    Good sources of Probiotics

    • Organic yogurt (must say live active cultures/bacteria)
    • Kombucha
    • Kefir
    • Fermented & cultured vegetables (raw sauerkraut)
    • Probiotic supplements
    Probiotics Benefits

    • Boosting immune system.
    • Preventing and treating urinary tract infections.
    • Improving digestive function.
    • Healing inflammatory bowel conditions like IBS
    • Managing and preventing eczema in children.
    • Fighting food-borne illnesses.

I took Bio Kult everyday and also drank Kombucha.

    Fertility Tea

I came across this Fertility Tea Ballymaloe food festival I drank this every second day brewed it and drank it cold you can buy it Here

    Pineapple

If you're trying to get pregnant, try eating pineapple during the week after ovulation because it contains bromelain, which thickens the uterine lining to help egg implantation. I was eating pineapple like there was no tomorrow now it may be a myth but its worth a try.

    Self Fertility Massage

Again I was willing to try anything I did this the week before ovulation find the video tutorial Here

So they are my tips try not stress about it and relax take time for yourself. If anyone has any question give me a mail and I will try answer them as best as I can.

    Food

So when you go on holidays its time to enjoy yourself and forget about any restrictions so I have put together my favorite places to eat in Benalmadena.

    Luna Beach Club
This restaurant is owned by Sunset Beach Club it is just a short walk via beach from the hotel is was the first place we went to eat when we arrived. We had a BBQ the day after or wedding here it was unreal it had a great selection something for everyone. I got the quesadillas the portion is massive so they are good to share. As most of ye know I don't drink they make a savage non alcoholic strawberry  daiquiri. Head down enjoy some food and drink on the beach.

    Gelateria
Ye all know how much of a sweet tooth I have I was dreaming of the place since the first time I had it. The nicest ice cream I have ever had so many flavors and so tasty Kinder beuno is my favorite. Its located down on the marina grab and ice cream and take a stroll we actually walked to Torremolinos from the marina its a great walk with lots of restaurants and shops.

    Metro
A lovely Italian restaurant just opposite the Gelateria we ate there twice in the week it has indoor and outdoor seating. The garlic mayo is to die for first time we got pizza and chips and second time I got the chicken pizzaola which was a chicken breast with tomoto sauce and mozzarella  cheese with chips and garlic bread they do a great virgin mojito.
    Menu

  • Palm 5
  • This is a beach bar on the way to the marina it has really cool seats that overlook the beach. It has some great deals and the pizza is good.

  • Meeting Point
  • I loved the cafe it was a short walk from the hotel. The chocolate croissants are so good we got 2 more to take away we went here twice. I would have went here every morning the staff were so nice and welcoming it had a really cool vibe and lots of freshly baked goods.

  •

  • The Organico Cafe
  • Ok so this one isn't in Benalmadena but its worth the trip trust me its in Fuengirola short trip in a taxi or bus it has lots of healthy and vegan options we got pizza and it was the best pizza I ever had even better then Italy and that is hard to beat. We were on a mission to find kombucha and finally we did in here.

  • Jacks
  • This is an american restaurant on the marina its a bit expensive but has great steak and mash defo worth a visit.

  • So they are my favorite places to eat there is loads to do in Benalmedna markets, marina,Parque De La Paloma,The old village, and a massive beach party every year on the 23rd of June with an amazing fire works display.
